30 Books To Read For Nordic Noir November

Hello November!

It’s time again for Nordic Noir November! Last year, I created the #NordicNoirNovember challenge where I encouraged readers to read and share as many Nordic noir books as they can. It was a success so I’m bringing it back this year! If you would like to participate in the challenge check out my post for more detail.

If you’re wondering what Nordic Noir is all about, I’m happy to tell you! It is a subgenre of crime fiction that is set in one of the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland, as well as the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland). Usually a police procedural, it features dark and disturbing storylines in bleak, atmospheric locations. Nordic noir is a mood as much as a genre and the darkening winter days of November are the perfect time to dive into these books.

To kick off Nordic Noir November, I’ve compiled a list of recommended Nordic Noir books. I hope you’ll find something you like!
