2023 Year In Review & Reading Stats
Goodbye, 2023!
What a year! I read 75 books and this is the first time since 2019 that I’ve read less than 100 books. My health was not great last year and I didn’t spend as much time reading so my initial feeling was disappointment. But then I realised it just means I have more books to look forward to in 2024.
Highlights of my reading year on the blog:
- Shined the spotlight and wrote reviews on some amazing books
- Shared my favourite books of 2022
- Compiled the most anticipated horror books of 2023, summer horror and autumn horror
- Made reading lists for books like ‘The Last of Us’, books like ‘Succession’ and creatures features for Halloween
- Made a list of horror books-to-movies and TV adaptations
- Hosted the fifth year of Nordic Noir November
I’ve compiled the wrap-up stats from Goodreads and Storygraph, check it out below:
I was glad to see that my reading graph from Storygraph this year was not flatlining like last year. I did venture into more genres besides horror, although the most genres I read were still horror, thriller and mystery. I also read books by 48 new authors this year!
So that’s my stats for 2023. My goal for this year is to tackle my physical TBR shelves and Netgalley before buying new books. How was your reading year?
