2022 Year In Review & Reading Stats
Goodbye, 2022!
It’s been an interesting year of reading. My goal was to read 80 books but I ended up reading more than 100. Not surprisingly, it’s less compared to the previous years. Mainly because this year I’ve gone back to full-time office work after a few years working from home as a freelancer, and also my social life had picked up with everything opening up again!
Highlights of my reading year on the blog:
- Gave the spotlight to some great books
- Took part in a number of blog tours
- Talked about coffee as a book companion, my reading habits, and the horrors of Adam Nevill’s No One Gets Out Alive
- Shared my favourite books of 2021 and the 12 books reading challenge
- Made reading lists for thrillers by Black authors, LGBTQ+ thrillers, new horror books for spooky season, and horror books for Halloween.
- Hosted the fourth year of Nordic Noir November!
I’ve compiled the wrap-up stats from Goodreads and Storygraph, check it out below:
Watching my reading graph from Storygraph had me questioning if it’s real! I was shocked to see my graph basically flatlining until November. I didn’t think I read as much horror as I did in the previous years but the following genre graph shows that I’m wrong!
Looking back at the stats, I probably need to read more lighthearted, less gloomy books this year! But I suppose that’s just the life of a horror fiction lover. How was your reading year?
